WASHINGTON—President Trump said he would welcome an impeachment trial in the Senate in the hope that Rep. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, would be called as the first witness to testify about the whistleblower who helped spark the inquiry.
During an interview on “Fox & Friends,” Mr. Trump said he knew the identity of the whistleblower and that he also wanted that person to testify. The whistleblower’s identity hasn’t been made public.
